Embrace the new: Vote for Janoo

I am not a politician or a politically minded person; I am a Vermont resident who supports our population in other meaningful ways and am grateful for those who hold public office. I do not hold anger or disgust for Gov. Phil Scott. He is well-meaning, but has had his chance — for five terms! In a democracy, we the people have the responsibility to envision change, where change is warranted. Have the biggest problems in Vermont been solved or has progress been made during Scott’s five-term tenure? No. One of his favorite words: No. He has vetoed bills that would have made significant progress towards improvement in the lives of Vermonters, both humans and wildlife.

You laugh — who cares about wildlife? I do, and you should, too. We share our natural environment with other than human critters, as well as wild vegetation.
Their overall health reflects ours.

And then we could talk about housing, education, climate change, AI. You laugh again: AI?
I personally know two people whose jobs have been lost; they were literally fired due to AI taking their place. This is nothing to laugh off or ignore.

Amanda Janoo is bold, young, experienced in policy, if not in office. Let’s embrace an opportunity for change, as opposed to the “managed decline” she rails against. Let’s give her the opportunity to create tangible change, with fresh perspectives and language and intent. She knows and cares deeply about you, and me, too, in an authentic manner that is genuine, not political theater.

If every Democrat who voted Scott into office in the past would vote for Janoo, she would win. Do not vote for Scott because you like his voice or you trust him to be safe or you are impressed that he did not vote for our current national authoritarian ruler.

This is not the time for safety or refuge in the familiar. We must have change to survive. Yes, it is that serious.

Embrace the new: Vote for Janoo!
