More reasons to support Benson for Vermont Senate

As we head to the polls this November, I encourage voters to support Sen. John Benson for another term in the Vermont State Senate. Senator Benson brings something valuable to public service: real-world experience in the issues he is working to address on behalf of his constituents.

Sen. Benson has a deep understanding of town governance and Act 250 laws. He has served on the selectboard, volunteered as a firefighter, and built a long career as an engineer. These experiences have given him a boots-on-the-ground perspective. He understands how decisions made at the state level affect local communities, working families, landowners, and the people who keep Vermont’s towns running.

Sen. Benson approaches difficult questions thoughtfully and carefully. He considers not only the immediate impact of a proposal, but also its long-term effects on Vermont  and on the people who make this state  a wonderful place to live. At a time when many Vermonters are concerned about affordability, land-use regulations, and the future of rural communities, that kind of careful judgment is essential.

Sen. Benson has consistently shown support for working lands and property rights. These issues are vital to Vermont’s future. Farmers, forestland owners, small businesses, and families need policies that recognize the importance of responsible stewardship while respecting the rights of those who live and work on the land. Protecting Vermont’s working landscape and maintaining a strong local economy must remain central to our state’s decisions.

What sets Sen. Benson apart is does not believe that every challenge can be fixed by directing more tax dollars toward it. Instead, he takes time to examine the root causes of problems and look for solutions that are practical, responsible, and lasting.

As a lifelong Vermonter, dairy farmer, landowner, parent, and current select board member, I value leaders who understand the realities facing our communities. Sen. Benson’s record of service and broad experience make him the right person to continue representing us in the State Senate.

I will be casting my vote for Sen. John Benson, and I hope you will join me.
