The Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge will be closed during the day beginning Monday, Oct. 19, as construction crews work to replace wooden deck planks.

The bridge is scheduled to be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and reopen on the weekends through the end of November, according to a news release from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

Andrew Hall, who oversees bridge maintenance for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, said in a Wednesday phone interview that the work is routine maintenance. “It’s not rare,” he said.

The project will be paid for using state funding, Hall said.

“A posted detour is not planned,” according to the release. “Motorists who use the Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge should plan for additional travel time and use an alternate route during the weekday closures.”
