Dartmouth fell behind early in the first game when Yale scored three in the second inning. The Big Green answered with five runs in the fourth, only to see the Bulldogs push across two each in the fifth and sixth to retake the lead.
Rob Emery was 4-for-4 for Dartmouth with a run scored and an RBI. Dustin Shirley finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Yale right-hander Simon Politz managed to escape trouble in the first three innings, stranding five runners in the process, four in scoring position.
Sophomore Dustin Shirley, who had two hits in both games, just missed a grand slam as his shot to left-center missed clearing the fence by six inches, leaving him with a two-run double.
Beau Sulser started for Dartmouth and pitched five innings giving up five earned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out seven.
The Bulldogs scored four runs in the second inning of game two to again put the hosts in an early hole. Dartmouth rallied for a run in the third and two in the sixth but otherwise had trouble solving Yale starting pitcher Chasen Ford (seven innings, two earned runs).
Emery homered in the sixth to give Dartmouth a spark against Ford. Nick Ruppert followed with a double and then scored on an RBI double by Justin Fowler for the final run of the game for the hosts. Shirley and Ruppert each finished two hits for the Big Green.
Clay Chatham took the loss in game two.

“Our attack’s job is to create opportunities and we didn’t do that,” said 24th-year coach Amy Patton, whose program is 15-27 overall and 8-12 in league play since reaching the NCAA tournament’s second round in 2013.
Dartmouth was outshot, 18-13, and committed 29 fouls to Brown’s 17. The Big Green’s Taryn Deck had three goals and Jaclyn Leto had two, giving her 49 this season and 147 in her career, fourth on the program’s all-time list.
Brown led, 4-2, at halftime before a 4-4 tie was produced eight minutes into the second half. The Bears scored the next four goals and ran out the clock in the final minutes for their first victory over Dartmouth since 2008.

The Big Green shot a combined 309 (21-over) on Saturday for a two-round total of 610. Harvard leads at 598 while Yale in just ahead of Dartmouth in second at 608. Dartmouth’s Ian Kelsey led the field as an individual after his 72 in round one, but slipped to fourth after a 77 in round two.
Boston
Dovydas Sakinis and Max Fliegner won 6-0 in their doubles match. Max Schmidt and Roko Glasnovic won 6-3 and Brandan Tannenbaum and George Wall were ahead 4-2 when the match went unfinished.
Sakinis (6-2, 6-3), Wall (6-4, 6-1) and Eddie Grabill (6-1, 6-4) all won their singles matches.

Dartmouth finished second in the Ivy standings.
Wins by Katherine Yau and Kristina Mathis at No. 2 doubles and Jacqueline Crawford and Lexxi Kiven at No. 3, both by scores of 6-2, gave the first point to Dartmouth.
Julia Schroeder, Taylor Ng, Kristina Mathis and Yau won in singles.
The Dartmouth women continued their weekend of competition split between Princeton’s Larry Ellis Invitational and the University of Virginia’s Virginia Challenge.
Allison Frantz led the way in Charlottesville, taking third in high jump and 25th in 100-meter hurdles. Kaitlin Whitehorn was sixth in high jump. Dana Giordano was seventh in the 1,500 meters and Jennifer Meech was eighth in the 200-meter dash.
Stephanie Brown led the Dartmouth contingent at Princeton, finishing eighth in the pole vault.
The Big Green men also were split between Princeton and Virginia with the highlight provided by a trio of Dartmouth athletes clustered in the top-10 of the 400-meter hurdles in Charlottesville.
Parker Johnson led the way in seventh, Alec Eschholz was eighth and Edward Wagner 10th. Johnson added a seventh place finish in the 110-meter hurdles.
Alex Frye led Dartmouth at Princeton, finishing eighth in the high jump.
Lucas Ribeiro was eighth in the discus.
