Enfield, NH – Francis Henry Bill, 79, of Enfield, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly on July 20 following a heavy equipment rollover accident at his home.
Born in Hanover, NH, to George and Marion Bill (both deceased), Francis spent his life in Enfield, devoted to caring for his parents in the family home.
Never married, but well loved, he is survived by 10 siblings, Priscilla Dube, Alice LeCain, Regina Decato, Roger Bill, Gloria Lehr, Philip Bill, Theresa Hamlin, Joyce Hardee, Elaine Townsend and Peter Bill, and predeceased by his sister, Bernadette Charbono.
With 44 nieces and nephews he held his fair share of babies and children, all of whom thought one of the best places to be was in his arms or on his lap. He introduced many of them to their first computer games and was always happy to entertain them.
He served his country, enlisting in the Army in December of 1966 and serving 4 years, one year spent overseas fighting in Vietnam. He earned medals that were never displayed and had stories of war that were never told. He was honorably discharged in May 1970.
Francis worked in the boiler room at the old Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, keeping everyone warm. He later joined the maintenance department at Mount Sunapee Ski Resort. He also operated a rototilling business and became a self taught computer repair expert.
Raised Catholic, Francis served as an altar boy at St. Helena Parish and was active in the Knights of Columbus.
A private family memorial will be held on Moose Mountain at the old family farm during the family reunion on August 1, 2026.
