The National Weather Service has issued “extreme heat watch” alerts for communities throughout New Hampshire and Vermont from Wednesday through Friday —including many in the Upper Valley.
In response, municipalities have opened cooling areas where residents can go to find relief from the heat. Email additions and updates to calendar@vnews.com.

Kilton Library: 80 Main St., West Lebanon, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Lebanon Airport Terminal Building: 5 Airpark Road, West Lebanon, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Upper Valley Senior Center: 10 Campbell St., 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (for senior citizens only).
Lebanon Veterans Memorial Pool: 67 Pumping Station Road, 4 to 7 p.m. Free for Lebanon residents only.
New London
Open July 1 and July 2.
Whipple Memorial Town Hall: 25 Seamans Road, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
