White River Valley girls, boys win SVL-B Championships

The White River Valley girls and boys track and field team won the Southern Vermont League B Championships at Windsor High School on Tuesday.

The Wildcat girls had several first-place finishes, including Sadie Armstrong (200, 400 meters), Casandra Armstrong (100 meters, 300 meter hurdles, pole vault), Imari Taylor (shot put, discus), and Addison Isham (110 meter hurdles). Also first for White River was the 4 by 100 relay team of Isham, Sadie Armstrong, Allie Durkee, and Sarah Rule, and the 4 by 400 relay team of Rule, Josie Noel, June Brown, and Anna Stone.

George Roda of White River won the 1,500 and 3,000 meters, Isaac Kinsley took the 300 meter hurdles, and Jack Hughes won the triple jump. The Wildcats boys also won the 4 by 400 relay with William White, Bradley Howe, Greyson Russ, and Matt Bangerter, and the 4 by 800 with Elijah Zitterkop, White, Jacob Benoit, and Asher White.

Other first-place results: Thetford Academy boys – Sebastian Perdrizet (100, 200 meters, long jump), Daniel Mann, David Thaxton, Emmett Terry and Rowan Champion (4 by 100 relay). Sharon Academy – Noah Malloy (400 meters, 110 meter hurdles, high jump). Windsor girls – Natalie Ranney (800 meters) Thetford Academy – Leah Crossett (long jump)
