Grantham, NH – Steven Michael Leone, 49, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Grantham on December 24, 2025. He was born in New London, NH on December 5, 1976 to Susan J. Leone (Cutting) and Ronald R. Leone. He was known as Stevie to many. As a boy Steven always admired the heroism of firefighters and policemen. In play, he proudly wore his badge acting out various scenarios of helping people in need.
Steven’s education choices followed his childhood interests. In 1995 he graduated from Lebanon High School and the Hartford Technical Center receiving a Certificate of Firefighter 1 through the Vermont Fire Service Training. In 2000 he received an Associates Degree in Science, with a Major in Criminal Justice from the New Hampshire Technical Institute. He also received S.P.O.T.S. training from the State of NH Department of Safety, Division of State Police.
Steven was a Volunteer with the Croydon NH fire Department 2000-2007. He worked for the Charlestown Police Department Dispatcher 2000-2003, followed by working as Dispatcher for the NH Department of Transportation 2003-2008.
Steven will be remembered for having a good heart, cordial, friendly, liked to help people, good sense of humor, working with his father, or himself, on mechanical problems with vehicles. His visits were often accompanied with flowers and/or a treat.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents Susan J. Leone and Ronald R. Leone. He is survived by his brother, Ernest Scott Leone, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Arrangements are in the care of the Carl Michaud Funeral Home in Wilton, NH. Family and friends are warmly welcomed to attend a graveside service at the Eastman Cemetery in Sunapee, NH on Friday June 5, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
