Articles of note: Voters will be asked to expand the downtown historic district to encompass all of the Main Street properties from the Sugar River to the Little Common and several others to the east along Central Street.

Also on the ballot are two petitioned articles, one $31,000 for a teen service library assistant at Richards Library and $15,000 for the Sullivan County bus service, as well as articles seeking $210,000 for two, full-time firefighters; $200,000 for a lease/purchase for a sidewalk plow and $217,900 for a new loader.

Contested races: Benjamin Bartlett, Jeff North, Anna O’Hara, Doug Ring and Herb Tellor are candidates for two, three-year seats on the Selectboard.

Budgets and spending articles: A $11.9 million budget, which includes a general fund budget of $9.3 million and $2.6 million for the water, sewer and airport budgets. The general fund budget is up $535,000 or 6% from the current year.

When, where and how to vote: Ballot voting will take place on Tuesday, May 12, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the community center on Meadow Road.
