Articles of note: One article asked voters to approve a town zoning ordinance that would limit residential parking to one space per unit for one and two-family dwellings. 

Another article asks voters if they support an appropriation of $1.3 million to construct a solar array at the Sunapee Wastewater Treatment Facility. 

A separate article seeks an appropriation of $65,000 to hire a full-time fire chief and cover nine months of employment, with the full annual amount of $166,000 included in future operating costs.

Another article would appropriate $41,000 toward hiring a full-time police officer. The sum covers five months of employment, with the full annual salary of $108,000 to be included in future operating costs. 

A Sunapee School District article asks voters to approve an open enrollment program that would allow admittance of non-resident students to Sunapee Middle High School, but would not allow resident students to enroll in open enrollment programs outside the district.

Contested races: David Andrews, Patrick Fine and Cindy Spear are vying for a three-year Selectboard term. Edward Andersen, David Bjorklund and Amanda Spears are vying for a three-year School Board term. 

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed general fund budget is $11.3 million, with a default budget of $10.1 million, which is the same default budget as last year. Other proposed appropriations include: $294,000 for the Fire Apparatus and Equipment Capital Reserve Fund, $200,000 toward the Highway and Transfer Station Equipment Capital Reserve Fund and $150,000 toward the Town Road Bridges Capital Reserve Fund. 

The proposed school budget is $15.72 million, with $15.46 million as the default budget, same as last year.

When, where and how to vote: Ballot voting will take place on Tuesday, March 10 at Sherburne Gymnasium, located at 555 NH-11. Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
