RANDOLPH โ€” Police are looking for an unidentified driver involved in a head-on crash on Route 12 around Meadow Lane on Friday morning.

The driver of the other car, 46-year-old Andrew White, of Royalton, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, according to a news release from Vermont State Police.

Police are searching for the operator of a 2010 Subaru Forester, which they say crashed head-on with the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage that White was driving at approximately 5:13 on Friday morning.

The Subaru operator โ€œleft the scene and has not been identified at this time,โ€ the release said.

It’s not clear how the driver left the scene, Trooper Jacob Clark, of the Royalton Barracks, said in an email.

Both cars were totaled in the crash and road conditions at the time were dry with clear weather, the release said.

The cause of the crash is “yet to be confirmed,” Clark said in the email.

โ€œAdditional information will be updated pending further investigation,” Clark said. “No additional information is available at this time.”

State Police were assisted on the scene by White River Valley Ambulance and Randolph Fire.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is encouraged to call the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks at 802-234-9933.
