NEWPORT — A 22-year-old Springfield, Vt., man has been charged with multiple sex assaults in both Vermont and New Hampshire, according to police.
Skyler Eley has been charged in New Hampshire with two counts of felonious sexual assault and one count of using a computer for a prohibited use, Newport police reported in a Monday news release.
Eley was also charged with one count of sexual assault in Vermont, the news release said.
A police investigation of Eley began after Newport police said they received a report in November of a sexual assault of a female juvenile by an adult male.
A collaborative investigation between Newport police and Springfield police “revealed a pattern of sexual abuse across multiple jurisdictions in New Hampshire and Vermont,” leading to Eley’s arrest on Nov. 20, Newport police said in the release.
The Sullivan County Attorney’s Office and the Windsor County State Attorney’s Office are coordinating court proceedings between their respective jurisdictions.
