Hanover’s Ben Groves finished sixth in a field of 253 runners at the New England Cross Country Championships at Thetford Academy on Saturday.

In the girls race, Hanover senior Megan Faris was 15th among 250 runners and the girls, winners of NHIAA Division II cross country championship and last week’s New Hampshire Meet of Champions, finished in third place with 30 team scores.

The Hanover boys, who also won the Division II title and were second in the Meet of Champions, finished in 15th place, also among 30 teams.

Other finishes among the Hanover girls were Lila Muirhead (45th), Arai Deeb (53rd), Lila Marchetti (68th), Millie Larrick (79th),Alice Bell (83rd) and Grace Stewart (93rd). Isaac McNaughton of Hanover was 44th, Dylan Faris 119th and Rhys Jones 191st.

Woodstock’s Mary Sluka finished 128th.

Champlain Valley Union in Vermont won the girls championship and Bishop Hendricken of Rhode Island won the boys title.
