Ludlow, VT – Our mother, Juanita Martin, lived a long and full life – one that was never ordinary and always uniquely her own. She passed away peacefully On October 4th, 2025, leaving behind a family that loved her deeply.
She is survived by six children: sons Walter Dana Martin Jr., Andrew Harry Martin, and Timothy Charles Martin, and daughters Heidi Clarissa Martin, Emily Elizabeth Martin, and Holly Martin. She now reunites with her husband, Walter Dana Martin Sr., her partner through so many years of laughter, challenges, and love.
In her younger days, Mom’s sharp mind and determination stood out early. She won the 4-H Club National Spelling Bee, a memory she held with quiet pride. She later worked as secretary for Governor Lane Dwinell, where her intelligence, professionalism, and grace left a lasting impression. Eventually, she chose to leave her career behind to become a full-time mom – a role she embraced with the same dedication she brought to everything in her life.
She filled her days with things that brought her joy: crossword puzzles, her collection of dolls, and her beloved dogs who were always by her side. She had a big heart – sometimes stubborn, always full – and she loved in ways that were unmistakably hers.
Like most families, ours wasn’t perfect, but love was always there. She taught us what it means to keep going, to care deeply, and to hold family close, even when life gets complicated.
We’ll remember her for her strength, her compassion, and the quiet ways she showed her love. She will be missed more than words can ever say, and loved for the rest of our days.
There will be a graveside service to honor Jaunita on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1 pm at Highland Cemetery in Lyme NH.
Arrangements are in the care of Hale Funeral Home, 187 Upper Plain in Bradford.
