A person riding an e-bike died following a collision with an SUV on I-93 on Monday evening.
State Police identified the deceased individual as 27-year-old Keerati Nakklee of Concord.
The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. on Monday. State troopers responded to reports of a collision involving a motor vehicle and an e-bike on the Exit 14 off-ramp on the southbound side of the interstate in Concord.
Nakklee was transported to Concord Hospital and pronounced dead.
“The preliminary investigation determined that Nakklee attempted to cross the interstate at the top of the Exit 14 offramp when the driver of a Hyundai Tucson merged onto the ramp and collided with the e-bike,” according to a report by the State Police.
It is unknown why Nakklee was riding on the interstate as of Tuesday morning, according to State Police.
Operating an e-bike on an interstate is not legal in New Hampshire. Unlike motor vehicles, these electronic bikes do not require registration, licensing or insurance.
The collision is under investigation. State Police are requesting that anyone with dash camera video or other information relevant to the investigation contact Trooper Kevin Barry at (603) 223-4381 or Kevin.J.Barry@dos.nh.gov.
