NEWPORT — A hearing on the state’s Ten Year Plan is scheduled to take place at the Newport Recreation Department next month.

The hearing on Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. at the Bar Harbor Room, 17 Meadow Road — is hosted by the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Intermodal Transportation, or GACIT, which is made up of the five Executive Councilors and the Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, or NHDOT — is one of several scheduled across the state in September and October.

The hearings are intended to provide an opportunity for public comment on transportation projects and priorities included in the draft 2027-2036 Ten-Year Transportation Improvement Plan, as recommended by NHDOT to GACIT.

People who are unable to attend the meetings can submit written testimony within 10 days of the completion of the public hearings.
