WILDER — A Tuesday morning structure fire at Oak Knoll Condominiums displaced 11 residents, including three children.
The Fire Department responded to a second-alarm fire at the two-story condominium building located at 133 Colonial Drive at 6:21 a.m., according to a news release from the Hartford Fire Department.
With help from the Lebanon, Hanover, Windsor and Woodstock fire departments, the blaze was under control by about 7 a.m.
Though firefighters initially “were informed of adults and a child trapped in the building,” everyone was “safely evacuated from the building,” according to the release.
Half of the eight units in the condominium were deemed uninhabitable due to fire or smoke damage. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced individuals with temporary arrangements, according to the news release.
The Hartford Fire Department and the Vermont Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit are currently investigating the fire’s cause.
