On March 23, 1987, she married Stephen Hamwey in Palm Beach, Fla. They lived in Florida and many different towns in the Upper Valley of Vermont.
Joyce worked many different jobs in her life. She worked for Audley Construction, Joann’s Fabric in West Lebanon, N.H., over 10 years at the White River Post Office and most recently she drove taxi.
She loved animals, the outdoors, hiking, fishing, taking her daughters camping and to the White Mountains to visit Santa’s Village.
She is survived by her ex-husband, who was still her friend, Stephen Hamwey of North Hampton, N.H.; two daughters: Stephanie Hamwey of Halifax, Mass. and Cassandra Hamwey of Marshfield, Mass.; a grandson, Shawn Richard Simpson; four brothers: Robert Blake and his wife, Patricia of Thetford, Vt., Donald Blake of Thetford Center, Vt., Michael Blake and his wife, Sandy and Roger Blake and his wife, Susan all of South Royalton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no public calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, June 30, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Riverview Cemetery in South Royalton.
