SANDWICH, N.H. — When it comes to cross country ski success, Lebanon Middle School apparently follows the high school’s lead.

LMS had the top overall and female skier as well as two boys in the top five at Monday’s middle school championship races at the Sandwich Fair Grounds. Only schools from the northern half of New Hampshire participated in Lebanon’s portion of the meet; LMS won the boys U14 title over two others, and the girls were second to Holderness in standings based on the cumulative times of the top four finishers per team.

LMS’ Annie Hanna was the top skier among all, winning the girls race in 13 minutes, 16.5 seconds. Teammate Ollie Hanna was fifth (15:30.8). Samantha Herring (19th, 20:41.5) and Harper Rancourt (20th, 20:47.8) closed out Lebanon’s scoring.

Reed Ferland (fourth, 15:53.7) and Tomas Kennelly (fifth, 15:56.0) led the way for the Lebanon boys. Benji Madory was seventh in 16:53.3, and Quinn Urnezis was 10th (18:06.8) for LMS.

Lebanon’s Otto Bourne was the fastest U16 skier and took third place overall among the boys in 13:52.2. Teammate Sophia Mladek was ninth overall among girls. 

Perdrizet wins at Storrs Hill

LEBANON — Ford Sayre’s Sebastian Perdrizet flew over limited competition to win the U14 boys crown during a three-hill ski jumping meet at Storrs Hill on Saturday.

In the top performance among all age groups, Perdrizet flew 38.5 and 39 meters in his two jumps off the K50 hill, amassing 149 points to easily outdistance two competitors from the Andover Outing Club.

Other Upper Valley winners included Lebanon Outing Club’s Timothy Tourville (K8 jump, U10 boys, 120.5 points); Ford Sayre’s Catherine Chor (K8 jump, U10 girls, 57 points); teammate Celia Osborne (K8 jump, open girls, 103 points); Ford Sayre’s Dylan Cote (K25 jump, U12 boys, 36.4 points); and Ford Sayre’s Grace Weinstein (K25 jump, U12 girls, 61.6 points).

■Ford Sayre’s Caleb Zuckerman led a pair of 2-3-4 finishes at the weekend’s Salisbury (Conn.) Jumpfest. Zuckerman, Cameron Forbush and Schuyler Clapp followed each other in order off Salisbury’s K65 ramp both Saturday and Sunday. LOC’s Angelo Goodwin took seventh in both meets.

Pastel leads super-G

FRANCONIA — Hailey Pastel placed 12th to lead a contingent of Ford Sayre Ski Council competitors at the NHARA Super-G Championships at Mittersill Ski Area on Friday.

Pastel posted a time of 59.49 seconds in single-run event. Ford Sayre’s Sadie Ross took 18th place (1:00.59) and teammate Reese Hamlin tied for 20th (1:00.68).

Gunstock’s Linnea Nyquist won in 55.68 seconds.

Lebanon Middle School cross count ry skier Sophia Mladek was ninth overall in the girls division of the New Hampshire Middle School Nordic Championships at the Sandwich Fair Grounds on Monday. Her finish was incorrectly reported in an earlier version of this story.
