Woodstock Triston Potter scored 21 points on Thursday to lead the Hartford High boys basketball team to a 61-49 victory over Woodstock.

The Wasps turned the ball over 12 times and were doubled up in points during the fourth quarter.

The Hurricanes held an 18-9 scoring advantage during the final stanza and committed only five turnovers during the Vermont Division II clash.

“They knocked down open shots and we missed a few easy ones,” said Woodstock coach Joel Cary, whose 6-11 team received 16 points from Caleb Webb and 11 points from Jack Arthur and hosts Bellows Falls on Saturday.

Hartford improved to 7-7.

Lebanon 76, Goffstown 35

Goffstown, n.h. — Ryan Milliken scored 26 points to boost the Raiders to 15-1 overall and 12-1 in NHIAA Division II play. A senior who also stars on the football field, Milliken committed this week to play that sport at NCAA Division III Springfield (Mass.) College.

Graham Chickering added 15 points for Lebanon, which hosts Souhegan tonight.

Windsor 67, Leland & Gray 30

Townshend, Vt. — Ben Meagher had 13 points, Duncan Frazer had 12 points and Adam Stapleton had 11 points and the Yellowjackets improved to 10-9.

Windsor, which led, 28-13, at halftime and also received nine points from Seth Blach, hosts Springfield on Tuesday.

Williamstown 88, Rivendell 22

Williamstown, Vt. — The Blue Devils led, 27-4, after a quarter and never let their collective foot off the gas pedal.

“We got shellacked,” Rivendell coach Jeff Huntington said. “That’s an awesome basketball team, right there.”

Owen Pelletier had 10 points for the Raptors (10-7), who host Rochester on Saturday.

South Royalton 41 Rochester 40

South Royalton — The Royals took the lead with 30 seconds remaining and hung on to improve to 14-5.

Nicholas Howe had 14 points and Andy Moore had eight points for South Royalton, which made 3 of 10 free throws and hosts Twinfield on Thursday.

Girls Basketball

Sunapee 67Concord Christian 30

Sunapee — Sydney Clark scored 13 points to become the 13th player in program history to record 1,000 points. Katie Frederick had 14 points and Faith Larpenter had 13 points.

“She’s come a long way,” Sunapee coach Tim LaTorra said of Clark. “Her jump shot has really come into form and she’s starting to expand her game.”

Sunapee finished the regular season 18-0.

Blue Mountain 30Whitcomb-Rochester 28

Wells River — Hayley Mears had 11 points and Amelia Mattrick added eight but the Mountaineers dropped to 4-12.

Whitchester trailed, 9-8, at halftime. It hosts Twinfield tonight.

Fair Haven 30, Hartford 28

White River Junction — The Hurricanes inbounded on the offensive end with 3.3 seconds remaining but the pass was deflected by the defending state champion Slaters, dropping the hosts to 6-8.

Megan Bushway had eight points and Natasha Lovell had two points and six rebounds for Hartford, which hosts Springfield on Saturday.

Rivendell 46, Chelsea 31

Orford — Riley Thompson had 19 points and Jenna Gilbert had six points and five rebounds for the Raptors (11-5), who also received two points and eight rebounds from Sienna Carter.

Rivendell, which led, 27-17, at halftime, visits Oxbow on Monday.

Fall Mountain 39Newport 30

Langdon, n.h.— Alexis Hurd had 10 points but couldn’t prevent the Tigers from slumping to 8-11 overall and 6-10 in NHIAA Division III play.

Newport hosts Stevens tonight, seeking a season sweep of its neighboring rival.

Boys Hockey

Lebanon 5, Kearsarge 1

Waterville Valley, n.h. — Nate Damren and Jack Sandmann each scored twice and Ian Garland also tallied as the Raiders improved to 7-8 overall and 6-7 in NHIAA Division II. Jordan Hammond made 14 saves.

Nate Gariepy had three assists, Sam Lawrence had two assists and Sandmann, Joey Dupree, Nate Damren and Aaron Damren had single assists for Lebanon, which visits Kingswood on Saturday.

Hartford 3, Missisquoi 0

Highgate Center, Vt. — The Hurricanes improved to 13-4 behind two goals by Tyler Hamilton and an empty-net tally by Patrick McGlone. Richie Morrill stopped 18 shots.

Jordy Allard and Ben Rouillard each posted assists for Hartford, which hosts Burlington on Saturday.

Keene 35, Hanover 18

Keene, n.h. — The Marauders tumbled to 0-6 despite Avery Hunnewell’s 12 points. Hanover hosts Merrimack on Monday.

Women’s Swimming

Big Green Last in Ivy Meet

Providence, r.i. — Dartmouth is in eighth place after day two of the eight-team Ivy League Championship with 156 points. Defending champion Harvard leads with 560.5 points.

The Big Green’s AnnClaire MacArt placed 11th in the B Final of the 500-yard freestyle (4:52.29), dropping over half a second from her morning swim.

The Big Green’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Megan Crook, Sophie Smith, Amy Sun and Maddie Dunn, placed eighth (1:35.02).

Day three of the championship is today, with prelims of the 1,000 free, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 3-meter diving and 400 medley relay.
