Hartland — Police have charged a 45-year-old Massachusetts man in connection with a robbery of the Mascoma Bank in Hartland Three Corners on Saturday, according to a news release.

Stephen Silva, of Springfield, Mass., was arrested today by Vermont State Police and charged with robbery, aggravated operation without owner’s consent and possession of stolen property. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.

Police said they received information over the weekend that Silva was involved in the robbery and searched his motel room and the vehicle he had been driving, which allegedly showed evidence of the crime, including clothing that matched the robber’s, police said.
