Essex, Vt. — Anne (Toppin) Comstock, 90, longtime resident of both Essex and Tunbridge, Vt. died on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at Essex Meadows Healthcare Center. Beloved wife of the late Merritt Comstock. Anne was born in Hartford, Conn., daughter of the late Hubert & Annie (Cochran) Toppin. Anne will be remembered as a very generous community volunteer, an avid gardener, quilter and rug braider.

She is survived by her children: Laura Comstock Akin and her husband, Sam of Long Valley, N.J., Taffy Glowac and her husband, Bruce of Essex and Timothy Comstock and Colleen Auger of Wallingford. Anne is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter, Sally Otis; and siblings: Robert Toppin, Charlotte Comstock and Janet Prann.

Anne’s funeral service was held at the Wooster Chapel in the Fountain Hill Cemetery in Deep River, Conn. A time of fellowship and refreshment will be held at the Tunbridge Town Hall, 271 Route 110, Tunbridge, on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 11:30 a.m.
