DELAND, FL — Frederick Slaney Lincoln Paige passed away on January 19th, 2021 at Halifax Health Center. He was born in Springfield, MA on December 7th, 1937 and grew up in Ware, MA. He married Nancy on March 30th, 1987 and moved to DeLand, FL. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Nancy; his son Travis Paige (Kim) of Lebanon, NH; daughter Libby Simmons (Kevin) of Dover, NH; 2 stepsons Michael Yacavone (Kathryn) of Hanover and NH, Alan Yacavone (Susan) of Wayne, NJ; 5 grandchildren Nick Simmons, Matthew Yacavone, Chelsea, Malynn, and Brent Paige; and his brother Paul (Marilyn) of Ellijay, GA. Fred graduated from Ware High School, the University of Miami with a degree in Architectural Engineering, and Massey Tech with a Masters degree. He was in the U.S. Air Force as a radar navigator on B52’s during the Vietnam War. He was a master craftsman and home builder, and could fix anything. In his younger years, he enjoyed snow skiing on any mountain and waterskiing on Lake Sunapee in NH. He loved to tell stories of his escapades. Later, he enjoyed working on cars, building model kits of airplanes and ships, reading, computer games, playing cards and cribbage, and watching classic movies. He will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society in DeLand or the American Stroke Association.
