WOODSTOCK — Hayley Goodwin scored 23 points as the Mid Vermont Christian Academy girls basketball team picked up a 57-38 victory on Monday night over Woodstock at Dailey Gym.
The Eagles held a 34-16 lead through two quarters and were up, 49-30, entering the final stanza.
Sydney Goodwin finished with 13 points and Rachel Horner-Richardson added 11 for MVCS (6-0). Woodstock was led by Emma Tarleton’s 12 points, and Morgan Myers had six.
The VPA Division II Wasps and D-IV Eagles weren’t scheduled to meet, but both teams feature players with COVID-19 facemask exemptions, which has made playing games difficult. Monday night’s contest was only the second time this season Woodstock (3-2) has actually played a game. The Eagles were previously scheduled to travel to Long Trail on Monday.
MVCS hosts Proctor on Thursday while Woodstock heads to Mount St. Joseph on Friday.
SOUTH ROYALTON — Tanner Drury scored 12 points, but the Wildcats couldn’t overcome an 11-point halftime deficit.
Ella Perreault had nine points, and Jillian Barry added eight.
WRV (1-2) hosts Proctor on Monday.
WINDSOR — Up 38-9 after two quarters, the Yellowjackets improved to 4-1 on the season.
Elliot Rupp scored a game-high 20 points, and Reese Perry had 18. Adi Prior and Peyton Richardson each finished with 13 points for the Jacks.
Windsor and Thetford renew their rivalry on Friday night in Windsor.
DANVILLE, Vt. — The Panthers entered the fourth quarter down 39-29 and tried to rally, but two free throws from the Pride in the final seconds of the game held off the comeback.
Namya Benjamin led the way with 14 points and five rebounds. Addie Cadwell contributed 13 and Emma Colby had seven.
Thetford (3-2) visits Windsor on Friday night for a D-III showdown.
FAIR HAVEN, Vt. — The Hurricanes fell behind 22-5 after one period.
Bailey Cameron recorded 15 points and Davan Murphy knocked down two 3-pointers for six points.
Hartford (3-2) hosts Rutland on Thursday.

Newport (0-6) will lose Chase Hamilton to graduation.
BRADFORD — Bryce Ilsley dropped 33 points, but the Olympians couldn’t hold on for the win.
Oxbow led by eight points entering the fourth quarter but was outscored 17-7 in the final stanza. A week ago, Oxbow fell at Twinfield by 21 points.
Chase Lund contributed seven points and Andrew Emerson and Drew Shaw each had six.
The O’s are now 0-5 and travel to Rivendell on Thursday.
NORTH CLARENDON, Vt. — Despite the VPA Division II hosts finishing with 10 3-pointers and playing aggressive defense all night, the D-IV Raptors left Mill River with a road victory.
Kyle Carter recorded a double-double, finishing with 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Chris Pierce matched Carter’s point total of 17, and Garrett Stever had 11 points.
Rivendell (4-2) shot 13-of-15 from the free-throw line and hosts Oxbow on Thursday night.
NORTHFIELD, Vt. — The Wildcats’ defense clamped down and only allowed four points in overtime.
WRV (2-1) held a 46-45 entering the fourth quarter, but Northfield rallied to tie the game at the end of regulation.
Dominic Craven finished with four 3-pointers en route to 25 points. Carder Stratton scored eight of his 21 points in the fourth quarter.
The Wildcats travel to Proctor on Friday.
WELLS RIVER, Vt. — Ryen Wolf, Eli Dunnet and Jacob Gilman all hit for double figures as the Panthers (2-3) topped the Bucks.
Wolf had 16 points, Dunnet posted 13 and Gilman added 10 for Thetford, which closed out the win with a 5-for-7 team effort at the line in the fourth quarter.
