Margaret Truman

Lebanon, N.H. — Mrs. Margaret E. Truman, 96, formerly of Hanover, N.H. died March 23 at 7:19 a.m. at the home of her daughter in Lebanon.  Mrs. Truman was born in Maryland. She met and married the love of her life Ralph J. Truman and after WWII settled in Hanover to raise their family.  She was a devout Catholic and parishioner at St. Denis Church, joining the Catholic Daughters and becoming part of their drill team, competing all over New Hampshire in the 1950s. In 1951 she joined the Grafton Star Grange, and in 2003 was presented their cane as the oldest living member, with over 50 years of service. Mrs. Truman worked over the years at numerous jobs in Hanover but was proudest of her role as wife and mother. She instilled in her children an excellent work ethic, to Love one another and to believe in their Catholic faith, and she showed us by example how these traits can make the world a better place. She was Mom Truman to countless children by Love far and wide, old and young, Peg to her friends, and Gram to multi generations.

The Love of her Life, Ralph, died in 2003. She leaves behind elder daughter Janet E. Proctor of Framingham, Mass., middle child Catherine T. Bourdon of Lebanon, and Skip (Ralph C) Truman of Lebanon; grandchildren Michelle Martin, Christine Bourdon, Michael Proctor, Ryan Truman and Taylor Truman; great grandchildren Victoria Chandler, Megan Martin, Lauren Martin and Nathaniel Martin. She was so proud of her family and always took the opportunity to tell us so.
