Brenda G. Connelly

Lebanon, N.H. — Brenda G. Connelly, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2018, at the age of 105. She was born in Milton, Maine to the late Charles & Laura (Whitten) Gilman. She was the youngest of five. Brenda was raised on a farm in Milton and graduated from Wilton Academy. Her father died when she was seven. Her grandparents moved to the farm to help operate it and raise her. Brenda worked on the farm until she met her husband Robert E. Connelly. Both she and Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. They had a daughter and son and enjoyed their summers at their camp in Pittsburg, N.H.

Brenda had a great love for sports and the outdoors. She lettered in five sports in high school to include basketball, field hockey and baseball. Throughout her life she enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and New England patriots. Her love of animals was seen in the animals she kept, as well as the birds she fed and the bears she encountered. She was a hard working determined person with a sense of humor.

She is survived by her daughter, Doree C. Townsend; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to Brenda’s funeral at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Saturday, June 30 at 11 a.m. burial will follow in the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon.
