Bob Iuliano, of Queensbury, N.Y., crashed his glider in the area of Hewitt Hill Road during an attempt to land in a local farmer’s field, striking a gully and causing heavy tail-end damage, according to a Vermont State Police news release.
Troopers found Iuliano at a nearby residence unharmed. He was making arrangements to remove the aircraft as of Tuesday afternoon, the release said.
South Royalton
Belmont has been working as a firefighter and paramedic for a squad in Northern New Hampshire, holding the rank of captain since 2017, according to a news release from the rescue squad.
Belmont, his wife and their three children will move to the area this summer, the release said. He will focus on day-to-day operations in South Royalton.
“My personal interests include leadership, improving both EMS and community education, as well as improving quality standards and protocols,” Belmont said in the release. “My passion is to help those in need, in whatever way I can.”

Sununu said in a statement on Monday that in a system where “innocent until proven guilty” is the ultimate maxim, a person who is charged but not yet convicted of a minor crime should not be sent to prison merely because he or she lacks the financial ability to post bail.
Nashua, n.h.
Nashua police were called to a home on June 26 following the report of a suicidal subject. On arrival, they found 29-year-old Justin Contreras.
Police said Contreras threatened one of the officers by pointing a gun at him. He was shot by officer James Ciulla and was taken to a hospital.
Police charged Contreras with criminal threatening on Monday. He was released on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on July 12.
Plymouth, n.h.
Of the 1,200 future students, 571 are from New Hampshire, representing a nearly 10 percent increase from last year’s first-year class. Students also are coming from throughout the United States and countries such as Sweden, South Korea, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom.
The university also anticipates more than 200 transfer students enrolling this fall.
