Salt Lake City, Utah —
David was a distinct and eccentric gentleman who functioned as a catalyst in the lives of those around him, causing great humor and at times even greater umbrage. He was a proud graduate of Hanover High School and the University of Vermont. He loved to live and surf on the bleeding edge of technology and the Internet and to translate his learnings to the neophytes around him. He co-founded the influential and oft heralded Wasatch Canyon Reporter as both publisher and editor.
His greatest passion was the many dogs that he fostered, raised and lived with, most importantly Bailey, Luna, Big Winnie and BeeBee Annie, who preceded him and awaited his coming with great eagerness. His dogs Stevie and Russell live on in the manner he would have wished.
He was a lifelong passionate supporter of the American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood, Bernie Sanders and the Salt Lake County Animal Shelter.
He is survived by his mother, Susan and stepfather, Don Foster, of White River Jct.; loving wife, Kelli Lynn Baker; and long-time friend, ally, and ex-wife, Carolyn Uhle.

On Saturday there was a walking memorial service with both people and dogs at Memory Grove in Salt Lake City. There will be a private service in Vermont at a later date.
