WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — Northern Stage Managing Director Irene Green is slated to leave her post in July to become the executive director of a performance venue in Minnesota, according to a Friday news release.
“I am looking forward to the growth and opportunity that my new position will offer, including the chance to live and work in the same state as most of my family members,” Green said in the release.
After she leaves Northern Stage on July 2, Green — who grew up in Pella, Iowa — is to take the helm of the O’Shaughnessy on the campus of St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minn.
Green first came to Northern Stage in 2013, as the director of sales and marketing. She then became associate managing director in January 2018, and assumed the managing director post in November of that year.
The news release credits Green with aiding in the opening of the Barrette Center for the Arts, creating a community engagement model that “guides the company,” increasing the number of patrons and students served by the organization and steering the organization through COVID-19.
“We are grateful for Irene’s spirited and exemplary leadership at Northern Stage for the last nine years,” Northern Stage Board of Directors Chairman David Grant said in the release.
Northern Stage’s board is slated to conduct a national search for a new managing director, who is expected to assume the position at some point during the company’s upcoming 25th season.
