Boston — Jaroslav Halak stopped 24 shots, and David Pastrnak had a goal and two assists to lead the Boston Bruins to a 3-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night.

Torey Krug had a goal and an assist and David Krejci also scored to help Boston snap a nine-game losing streak to Anaheim and win for the fifth time in seven games.

Ducks defenseman Josh Mahura got his first career goal with 4:16 remaining to spoil Halak’s bid for a second straight shutout. John Gibson finished with 28 saves as Anaheim lost its second straight after winning nine of 10.

Pastrnak’s power-play goal broke a scoreless tie when he one-timed Krug’s pass past Gibson at 7:19 of the second period. With his assists on the other two goals, he has 14 points in his past eight games.

Halak made the save of the game with 6:31 remaining in the second when he stoned Brandon Montour robbing him with a glove save.

Krug increased Boston’s lead to 2-0 on the power play when he converted a feed from Brad Marchand past Gibson with 1:55 remaining in the second.

Krejci added an insurance goal 5:21 into the third to cap the scoring for Boston, which shut out Montreal in their previous game.

Notes: Anaheim and Minnesota are the only two teams to have a winning record in Boston. … Krejci recorded his 600th NHL point and has eight points in his last six games. … David Backes recorded his 300th NHL assist and Krug recorded his 200th assist for the Bruins. … Patrice Bergeron is targeting a weekend return for the Bruins.

Maple Leafs 6, Panthers 1

Toronto — Auston Matthews had two goals and two assists, and John Tavares also scored twice to help Toronto rout Florida.

Matthews had his second four-point game of the season, as did Morgan Rielly with four assists. Mitch Marner added a goal and two assists, Nazem Kadri had a goal and an assist, and Frederik Andersen made 25 saves.

Penguins 2, Wild 1

Pittsburgh — Bryan Rust scored two goals to help Pittsburgh beat Minnesota.

Rust put Pittsburgh ahead to stay when he scored his ninth of the season 8:12 into the third period. Rust has at least one goal in five of his last six games, including the game-winner one night earlier when the Penguins defeated the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals on the road.

Pittsburgh’s Jake Guentzel picked off a Greg Pateryn pass behind the net, and centered to the slot where Rust slipped a shot between Devan Dubnyk’s pads.

Flyers 2, Predators 1

Philadelphia — Carter Hart made 31 saves for his second straight win in his second NHL start, and Philadelphia beat Nashville.

Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek scored for the Flyers, who won their second straight under interim coach Scott Gordon. Gordon replaced Dave Hakstol, who was fired on Monday.

Blue Jackets 2, Devils 1

Columbus, Ohio — Cam Atkinson scored on a penalty shot, Sergei Bobrovsky had 30 saves and Columbus beat New Jersey.

Nick Foligno also scored after getting the winner Monday night as the Blue Jackets won their second straight and ended a six-game homestand on a high note.

Red Wings 4, Hurricanes 1

Raleigh, n.c. — Niklas Kronwall had a goal and an assist, Jonathan Bernier stopped 38 shots and Detroit beat Carolina.

Jonathan Ericsson, Frans Nielsen and Dylan Larkin also scored to help Detroit win for the second time at PNC Arena this season. Larkin’s empty-netter with 19 seconds left extended his point streak to nine games.
