Hartford — The interim fire chief who has been filling that role since September 2015 has been permanently appointed to the position, according to a news release from the town this afternoon.
Scott Cooney, who has worked for the fire department since 1995 and lived in town since 2000, has been filling in since Steven Locke departed to become the Burlington Fire Chief last year.
The announcement comes days after new Town Manager Leo Pullar, a former Pentagon employee, took the reins.
