Dartmouthโs ski teams had a successful week, finishing first in the St. Lawrence Carnival with 873 points and the Colby Carnival with 869 points.
On Thursday, the Big Green competed in the giant slalom at the St. Lawrence Carnival. Sawyer Reed (2:07.30), Benny Brown (2:07.53), and Oscar Zimmer (2:07.53) all finished in the top five for the men.
As for the women, Emma Resnick (2:13.08) and Carly Elsinger (2:13.24) finished in the top ten.
On Friday, the event wrapped up with the slalom, where Zimmer (1:26.72) finished first overall for the men and Zoe Zimmermann (1:34.14) finished second overall for the women.
The third day of the Colby Carnival was also on Friday, where the 20K freestyle event took place. Cooper Camp (5:50.8) was the Big Greenโs top finisher for the men in fourth. Ava Thurston (1:03:13.8) was the womenโs top finisher at second overall.
The Colby Carnival came to a close on Saturday with the 7.5k freestyle. For the men, Aaron Power (21:10.1) had the top finish in fourth, while Thurston (23:12.4) finished first overall for the women.
The Dartmouth Carnival begins on Friday.

Menโs tennis picks up another win
The Big Green hosted Fairfield on Friday and picked up a dominant 7-0 win. Kornel Halmos, Leo Pade, Yujiro Onuma, Calvin Wang, Denny Bao, Miles Groom, and Malhar Patel contributed to the victory.
The Big Green are now 3-0 overall and host Merrimack and Boston University on Saturday.
Womenโs tennis sweeps over the weekend
The Big Green picked up a win over Boston College, 4-3, at Boss Tennis Center on Friday. Sam Grosjean, Michela Moore, and Peyton Capuano had wins in singles, while the team of Capuano and Moore had a doubles win.
Dartmouth followed up its win on Friday with another on Saturday when it hosted Fordham and came out victorious, 4-1. Moore and Alexandra Orlins had singles wins, while the teams of Capuano and Moore and Grosjean and Orlins had the doubles wins.
The Big Green are 3-0 to start the season and host Boston University on Saturday.
Big Green standouts at Gordon Kelly Invitational
On Saturday, Dartmouth competed at the MIT-hosted Gordon Kelly Invitational. Highlights include Jack Tan winning the pole vault and Sam Starrs coming in second for the men in the same event. Evie Woodrow was the top finisher for the women in the pole vault in fourth.
Next up for the menโs and womenโs track and field teams is the Terrier Classic and Harvard Invitational, scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
Lacrosse athletes earn pre-season All-American honors
Senior Thomas Power of the Big Greenโs menโs lacrosse squad earned honorable mention pre-season All-American honors from USA Lacrosse Magazine. He notched 54 points last season with 26 goals and 28 assists.
On the womenโs squad, senior Maya Kendall earned pre-season All-American honors from USA Lacrosse Magazine as a member of the third team. Kendall is coming off a season in which she set an Ivy League single-season record for draw controls with 188 of them.
Three skiing alums to represent US in Winter Olympics
Rosie Brennan, a graduate of 2011, Lauren Jortberg, a graduate of 2020, and John Steel Hagenbuch, who graduated in 2025, have been named to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard roster for next monthโs Winter Olympics in Italy.ย
This will be the first Olympics for Jortberg and Hagenbuch and the third for Brennan, who was on the United States’ Olympic team in 2018 and 2022.
Menโs soccer announces new staff addition
Connor Klekota, who was announced as the Big Greenโs new menโs soccer coach in December, is filling out his staff. Robby Dambrot, who most recently played professional soccer in the USL Championship League for Virginiaโs Loudoun United FC, is coming on staff as an assistant.
Womenโs hockey on four-game skid
The Big Green dropped their third and fourth games in a row over the weekend with a pair of overtime losses.
On Friday, Dartmouth hosted a top-15 team, Clarkson, and fell 2-1 in overtime. Izee Powell had the Big Greenโs lone goal while Michaela Hesovรก had 40 saves in the loss.
Dartmouth suffered another 2-1 overtime loss on Saturday to a visiting St. Lawrence squad. Once again, it was Powell who scored her teamโs only goal, and Hesovรก played well again with 35 saves.ย
The Big Green are now 4-17-3 overall and 2-11-3 in conference play. They will aim to snap their skid when they are on the road for battles with Cornell on Friday and Colgate on Saturday.
Menโs hockey falls on road to Cornell and Colgate
The Big Green came up empty-handed in the wins department over the weekend and now has lost two in a row.
On Friday, Dartmouth hit the road for a battle with No. 12 Cornell, but suffered a 2-1 loss in overtime. Cam MacDonald had the goal for the Big Green. Emmett Croteau had 29 saves.
The Big Green did not fare much better on Saturday, falling 5-2 on the road against Colgate. Ryan Schelling and Cooper Cleaves had Dartmouthโs goals.
Dartmouth is now 14-6-1 overall, 8-4-1 in conference play, and is ranked No. 14 in the nation. The Big Green will aim to pick up some wins when they host Union on Friday and RPI on Saturday.
Multiple hockey athletes are Hobey Baker Memorial Award nominees
Hayden Stavroff, CJ Foley, and Hank Cleaves are among the athletes from the Dartmouth menโs hockey team who are in the running for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, which is granted to the best player in Division I menโs hockey.
Stavroff has 30 points this season with 20 goals and 10 assists, Foley has notched 14 points with three goals and 11 assists, while Cleaves has 25 points this season on nine goals and 16 assists.
Womenโs basketball loses fifth in a row
The Big Green had a rough go of it on Saturday when they traveled to face Columbia and lost 89-32. Zeynep Ozel, who notched 14 points, was the only Dartmouth player to score in double figures.
The Big Green are now 9-9 overall and 0-5 in conference play. They host Brown on Friday and Yale on Saturday.
Menโs basketball drops sole game of the weekend
The Big Greenโs menโs basketball team also faced off with Columbia on Saturday, but at home, and suffered a 79-69 loss.
Brandon Mitchell-Day led the way offensively for the Big Green with a 20-point, 12-rebound double-double. Connor Amundsen and Jackson Munro added 13 points each, while Kareem Thomas had 11 points.
Dartmouth is now 9-9 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Big Green travel to Yale on Friday and Brown on Saturday.
Squash athletes fall at CSA Individual Championship
At the event in New York over the weekend, Wei Yan Tho fell in the first round to Yale, while Arihant Kalamangalan Sunil fell in the round of 64 to Penn. Xiang Xiang Liu, who represented the womenโs squash team, fell in her first matchup to Tufts.
The menโs squad, which is 5-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play, visits Yale on Friday and hosts Trinity on Sunday. The womenโs team, which is 4-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play, also travels to Yale on Friday and hosts Trinity on Sunday.
