The Big Green menโs basketball team has started the new year hot, picking up two straight wins.
First, Dartmouth hosted Elms College on Thursday and cruised to a convincing 107-43 win. It was a masterclass in balanced offense for the Big Green as five players scored in double figures.
Anton Strelnikov paced Dartmouth with 16 points, Nikola Abusara had 13 points, Brandon Mitchell-Day and Shanon Simango each added 12 points, and Cameron McNamee scored 10 points.

Dartmouth carried Thursdayโs momentum into its first Ivy League bout of the season on the road against Harvard on Monday. The Big Green picked up a 76-68 win, which was their first road Ivy League opener victory since the 1998-1999 season.
Once again, multiple members of the Big Green got in on the scoring action with four players scoring in double figures.
Kareem Thomas led the way with 19 points, Connor Amundsen had 18 points, Mitchell-Day added 13 points, and McNamee scored 11 points.
With its latest victories, Dartmouth is now 7-7 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Big Green will aim to stay unbeaten in conference play when it travels to Ithaca, N.Y., for a battle with Cornell on Saturday.
Football athletes pick up more accolades
Senior tight end Chris Corbo and senior offensive lineman Delby Lemieux were named Phil Steele All-Americans.
Corbo, who had four touchdowns and over 500 yards receiving this past season, was named to the first team, in what is his fourth All-American honor this offseason. Lemieux was named to the second team, the Phil Steele Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year, and Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Crowther (senior, running back), Corbo, Lemieux, Konstantin Spรถrk (senior, offensive lineman), Grayson Saunier (junior, quarterback), Maxwell Wentz (senior, offensive lineman), Grayson O’Bara (senior, wide receiver), Thaddeus Gianaris (senior, linebacker), Sean Williams (senior, defensive back), Dakota Quiรฑonez (senior, defensive lineman), Harrison Keith (junior, safety), Zyion Freer-Brown (senior, linebacker), Patrick Campbell (senior, defensive back), Joe Onuwabhagbe (senior, defensive lineman), Nico Schwikal (senior, linebacker), Luke Armistead (sophomore, punter), Ian Scott (junior, punt returner).
Menโs hockey hits two-game losing skid
The Big Green, which had a historic 11-0 start to the season, has had a bumpy start to 2026, first falling in a road matchup with Princeton, 5-4, on Friday.
Hank Cleaves, Cooper Cleaves, Hayden Stavroff, and Brock Devlin scored for Dartmouth in the matchup, which saw the Big Green take an early lead that they were unable to hold.ย
Dartmouth got right back to work on Saturday for a road showdown with No. 10 Quinnipiac, but once again was unable to come up with a win, falling 5-3.
CJ Foley, Tim Busconi, and Joshua Schenk found the back of the net for Dartmouth in the loss.
Dartmouth, which is ranked No. 11 in the nation, is now 12-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play and will gear up for a matchup with Harvard on Friday at Thompson Arena.

Womenโs hockey winless against Vermont
Last week, the Big Green and Catamounts battled twice in a home-and-home series, which saw Dartmouth come up empty-handed in the win column.
Vermont blanked Dartmouth, 1-0, in Burlington on Friday, despite a solid performance between the pipes from Big Green goaltender Michaela Hesovรก, who had 31 saves.
With the series shifting back to Thompson Arena on Saturday, the Big Green found themselves on the losing end once again, falling to Vermont, 2-1.
Shae Messner, who was assisted by Hamilton Doster and Ella Inglis, was Dartmouthโs lone goal scorer. Hesovรก had 27 saves.
The Big Green are now 4-12-2 overall and 2-6-2 in conference play. They host Yale on Friday and Brown on Saturday in hopes of ending their losing streak.
Michaela Hesovรก representing Czechia in Olympics
In better news for the womenโs hockey program, the Big Greenโs sophomore netminder, Michaela Hesovรก, was named to the Czech Republic womenโs hockey team that will be competing at this year’s Olympics in Italy.
Hesovรก is coming off a freshman season in which she was named to the All-Ivy Second Team and the ECAC All-Rookie Team. This season, she has a .901 save percentage and a 2.74 goals against average. She is now the 10th woman in program history to compete at the Olympics.
Womenโs basketball splits latest matchups
Last Tuesday, the Big Green picked up a convincing 99-35 win at home against St. Joseph’s University Brooklyn.
Zeynep Ozel was Dartmouthโs leading scorer in the win with 16 points. Debra Hill scored 15 points while Alexandra Eldredge notched 11 points and Emma Olausson added 10 points.
The Big Green were unable to pick up a second straight win when they hosted Harvard in their Ivy League opener on Saturday, losing 72-47. Cate MacDonald, who had 17 points, was the lone Dartmouth player to score in double figures.
Dartmouth is now 9-5 overall and 0-1 in conference play. The Big Green hosts Cornell on Saturday.
