LYME, NH — Cecil D. Currier, age 76, died Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in his home after a short illness.
He was born in Newport, NH on May 30, 1943, son of Clyde and Helen (Snow) Currier.
Cecil was predeceased by his loving wife Evelyn Powers of more than 47 years, sister, Joyce Gobin, stepdaughter, Madelene Trussell and first wife Virginia Laclair.
He is survived by his brothers Russell, Mark (Eddie), Larry and Gerald (Tommy) and daughter Belinda Laclair, step children, Thomas Estes, Russell Estes, Roberta Pike, Pauline Gray and Linda Woodward; 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many great, great grandchildren.
Cecil attended Newport High School in Grantham, NH. Cecil’s working career consisted of Sportwell Shoes, Newport, NH, Dartmouth Printing, Hanover, NH, Estes & Gallup, Lyme, NH. He also spent many summer evenings and weekends with his lawn care business and continued this business after retiring from Estes & Gallup in 2005. At the time of his passing, Cecil was a part time temporary employee of Dartmouth College Dining Services.
Cecil was a former member of Lebanon Elks, Eagles, Lebanon Good Sam Chapter and Grafton Mountaineers.
Cecil loved hunting, fishing and dancing. He was also an avid snowmobiler, motorcycle rider, camper and sightseer. His latest passion was his summer yard sales. An outgoing person, Cecil enjoyed visiting with his many friends and relatives.
There will be a graveside service and celebration of life in the spring. This is the time for sharing stories of Cecil’s life. Time and date will be printed in the Valley News at a later date.
Memorial donations in Cecil D. Currier’s name can be made to the American Heart Association.
